Dragnet 2003 is a crime drama television series that aired on ABC from February 2, 2003 to May 18, 2004. It is a revival of the classic police procedural television series, Dragnet. The show starred Ed O'Neill as Joe Friday, a no-nonsense detective who is partnered with his younger and inexperienced partner Frank Smith (Ethan Embry).
The show followed the duo as they solved crimes in Los Angeles using traditional investigative methods such as interrogation, witness interviews, and analysis of evidence, as well as modern forensic techniques. The show was known for its strict adherence to police procedure and its realistic portrayal of the everyday life of a detective.
Despite its critical acclaim, Dragnet 2003 only lasted two seasons before its cancellation due to low ratings.
